Terry Furgason will talk about the life of a Civil War soldier with an emphasis on the life of Jonathan Hinshaw who was born in North Carolina in 1820 but moved to Indiana in 1850. When the Civil broke out, Hinshaw joined the 6th Indiana as a sergeant in Company B (Jennings County). After the Civil War, Hinshaw went on to become a prominent dentist in North Vernon and later in Michigan.
